Shri Kashi Vishwanath

One of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and the reason most pilgrims come at all. We advise on which gate to enter, when the queue turns, and how the Vishwanath Dham corridor connects to Annapurna Devi and Vishalakshi alongside it.

Kotwal of Kashi

Baba Kaal Bhairav

Tradition holds that nobody may stay in the city without his leave, so most yatris come here first. The black-thread prasad tied at his shrine is what visitors remember years later.

Tulsidas

Sankat Mochan Hanuman

Founded by Goswami Tulsidas, who is said to have had Hanuman’s darshan on this spot. Tuesdays and Saturdays are packed; a weekday morning is calm and far more rewarding.

Shakti

Durga Kund Mandir

The eighteenth-century Durga temple beside its stepped tank, painted the deep ochre-red that photographs beautifully in the early light. Monkeys own the courtyard — hold on to your prasad.

Ramcharitmanas

Shri Tulsi Manas Mandir

Marble walls inscribed with the entire Ramcharitmanas. Quiet, shaded, and a good stop with elderly travellers because there is nowhere to climb and somewhere to sit.

Campus temple

New Vishwanath Temple, BHU

Inside the Banaras Hindu University campus, built by the Birla family. Open, spacious and unhurried — the easiest darshan in the city for anyone who finds the old lanes difficult.

What a full day in Kashi actually looks like

This is our standard full-day plan, written out honestly — including the part in the middle where we send you back to the hotel because walking Varanasi at 2 PM is a bad idea.

Mangala Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath

The first aarti of the day, and the only one where the sanctum is still cool and half-empty. Entry is ticketed and limited, so this has to be arranged days ahead.

Subah-e-Banaras and the sunrise boat

Vedic chanting and a short classical recital at Assi Ghat as the sky turns, then your own boat upriver past Harishchandra and Manikarnika towards Dashashwamedh.

Carry a light shawl — it is genuinely cold on the water between November and February.

Kachori-sabzi, then the lanes

Breakfast where the locals eat, then a walk through the galis to Kaal Bhairav and the Vishwanath corridor while the crowds are still thin.

Rest through the heat

Varanasi is punishing between noon and three, particularly April to June. We build a real break into the middle of every full-day itinerary rather than pretending guests can walk through it.

Either the Dhamek Stupa and museum at Sarnath, or the BHU campus with the New Vishwanath temple and Bharat Mata Mandir — both are flat, shaded and unhurried.

Seven priests, the conches, and the lamps. We put you on a boat facing the ghat rather than in the crush behind it, which is the single biggest difference between a good evening and a frustrating one.

Boats fill from about 5:30 PM on weekends and festival days.

Every season in Varanasi has something worth travelling for. We would rather tell you which months are hard than sell you a trip you will not enjoy.

Daytime temperatures regularly cross 43°C. Perfectly doable if you start at dawn and stop by eleven, but not a season to plan long walking days in.

Monsoon on the river

The city is green and the ghats are dramatic, but the Ganga runs high and boat operations are suspended whenever the administration orders it.

Before you book

Yes. We assist with the Sugam Darshan and aarti tickets issued by the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, and our staff guides you to the correct gate. Availability is controlled entirely by the temple trust, so we ask for your dates as early as possible and never promise a slot we cannot confirm.

October to March is the most comfortable, with pleasant days and clear mornings for boat rides. Dev Deepawali (November) and Mahashivratri are spectacular but extremely crowded, so book two to three months ahead. April to June is very hot, and during the monsoon the boat rides are sometimes suspended when the river is high.

Yes. We use licensed boatmen, provide life jackets, and choose ghats with easier steps for anyone who has difficulty walking. Tell us in advance and we will arrange a boarding point with a gentler descent, plus help at the steps.

We take a small advance to confirm the vehicle and hotel, with the balance payable before departure. UPI, bank transfer and cash are all accepted, and you receive a written confirmation with the full breakup before paying anything.
